Mill River - Celebrate Earth Day April 16th, 9-2pm

Celebrate Earth Day April 16th
9:00 to 2:00 at Mill River Playground
Bring your family, your school, your co-workers!
Mill River Park staff have cooked up the best Earth Day yet.
    Earth Day 2010
  • Planting 4,000 wildflowers at the Playground
  • Waterproofing and staining the playground structures
  • Cleaning up the river and its banks
  • Restoring the organic lawns
Afterward we'll enjoy a picnic and outdoor fair with nature exploration tables, "learn how to fish" activities and other games coordinated by the Student Conservation Association, CT DEP CARE, and the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
The Mill River Stewards will hold a Native Seedling Tree sale. Purchases will support the interns' effort to grow native plants for the Mill River restoration project and to enable homeowners to partner in stewardship efforts at home.

  • To register contact Vincent Piselli / Land Manager
  • Requested donation for the picnic $5/adult & $3/child
Sponsorships and donations welcome to help defray the cost of supplies
